Adventurous Pianist Jade Simmons launches Superwoman Records
July 3rd marks the release of a free download from her upcoming EP Playing with Fire

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Pianist Jade Simmons, the proud DIY artist, grabs the bull by the horns once again by forming her own record label Superwoman Records. The new label will serve as the launching pad for the release of Jade’s most adventurous recordings. July 3rd, 2012 will mark the release of Boss’s Nova, the first single off of her upcoming EP Playing with Fire also known as #FireEP, set to drop in September 2012 and will be digitally available on iTunes, Amazon, Google, eMusic, Spotify to name a few. Boss’s Nova will be available as a free download!

Playing with Fire is a compact release that puts on display Jade’s love of hybrid musical compilations with renderings inspired by Contemporary Classical, Bossanova, Jazz and even Dancehall backed by Old and New School Hip Hop beats produced by Jade’s musical partner-in-crime Roburt Reynolds. A bonus track will find the ever-versatile artist rapping over the title track Fire. Superwoman Records will focus on mini-releases such as singles, EP’s and mix tapes, all formats Jade describes as being woefully underutilized in the world of Classical, Contemporary Classical and Experimental concert music. Keeping with a pattern of unexpected offerings, Simmons will also release two music videos in conjunction with the #FireEP.

While Playing with Fire is a more dance-oriented listening experience, Jade’s forthcoming full-length Paganini Project will feature standard virtuosic Classical works by Rachmaninoff and Liszt, Jazz-inspired pieces by Contemporary Classical composers Muczyinski and Fazil Say as well as the debut of her Electronic Improvisations on a Tune by Rachmaninoff. That recording will be released on eOne Music in February 2013. Playing with Fire gives listeners a very different kind of “Jade listening experience” in the meantime.

Houstonians have a chance to preview some of the new music live, including the rap version of Fire, with a performance on July 6th at the Jet Lounge on 1515 Pease St., Houston, TX 77002. Very limited space is available, advanced ticket purchase for $10 is highly encouraged. Tickets at the door are $13. Jade’s portion of the night’s showcase begins at 9pm. Tickets can be purchased now at:

Having a history of advocacy for emerging artists, Jade eventually plans to expand her efforts by dedicating Superwoman Records to the release of “adventurous music by adventurous women”. Her goal is to aid artists with the tools to get music to their fans quickly, without the delay of the cumbersome long-term release process.
